I’ve spent some hours playing this and after successfully setting up the beacon on every difficulty and exploring as much as I can, I say without a doubt that I really loved this game and the loop. Even though I don’t speak Deutsch, I appreciate you sharing this game very much.

The visuals are smooth, the resource gathering isn’t a mundane grind, the animal taming was adorably fun, and the many ways to fight the various enemies kept things fresh for each run.

I have to stop unfortunately, as there are a few incredibly frustrating things preventing me from replaying this more, and believe me I truly want to. Allow me to explain the annoyances of this cycle that seems impossible to break out of to truly and fully enjoy all aspects of the game.

I set up camp by nightfall day 1 and defend from enemies until morning. By the final wave, I’m still fighting even though it appears that it is already bright daylight. I’ll try to unload the various loots into crates, but there is only a small window here to organize things at the base because the eruption makes it impossible to stand still. By the time the eruption ends, half the day is gone. This leaves me with only a half day to do any gathering, exploring and treasure hunting, crafting, or the most exciting part that I never got to explore fully, base building, before the next night wave of enemies spawn.

In my humble opinion, the fastest and easiest solve here is to double the day time, and honestly I’d even support it being longer than that. Gathering resources isn’t too difficult and doesn’t take too long, but between organizing loot, or learning about the trader, or how lighthouses work, or following the treasure maps, or taming animals, hunting relics, crafting new gear, farming and again, the really awesome base buildings I see that are available to craft, there simply isn’t much time for first time players to truly explore the wonderful and unique features that I think deserve plenty of time to explore.

Other potential ideas that could help cut the cycle described above:

  • Auto-sort same type items from backpack into crate.
  • Larger chests/easier organizing options.
  • Ability to delete items or easily drop items from backpack.
  • A way to roof or shield from the eruption element so it doesn’t prevent you from standing still to do things at base, thinking a sort of “trinket” or “accessory” slot next to the armor slot could be nice here.
  • A direct way to upgrade the player’s basic walking speed, thinking trinkets or accessories could work here too.

Aside from the cycle being difficult to keep up with, there are some other things I could discuss but I don’t want it sound like too much for a first review. One final note is for the screenshot I’m providing, from this “everything you can craft” tab, the “craft” button doesn’t fit on the page, forcing the player to scroll down to craft, and scroll back up again to choose another item to craft. Suggestion to move that control, possibly to the left side of the screen or in the top/middle right somewhere.

I truly enjoyed the experience and hope you continue expanding on this. I will be happily adding to my watched list for future updates. I wish you the best of luck moving forward. 👍
